Methadone Clinic Counselor Charged with Attempted Possession of Cocaine
Another methadone clinic worker in Rockland, Maine, faces charges related to a cocaine bust last month. Carol Gardiner, 47, a counselor at Turning Tide, was summoned for attempted possession of cocaine. Turning Tide is a substance abuse clinic who’s owner, Angel Fuller-McMahan, was arrested in July for conducting a drug deal in a private and having $2,500 worth of cocaine in her possession. During their investigation of Fuller-McMahan police discovered the two women were regularly buying cocaine together.
Proactive Anti-Gang Team Stops Drug Deal
A new gang task force in Santa Cruz County plans to use whatever means necessary to lock up gang leaders, reduce violence and stop kids from entering into a life of crime. Already, the task force has interrupted an alleged cocaine deal and arrested both the suspected dealer and his customer.
Correctional Officer Attempted to Provide Inmate with Cocaine
Arizona correctional officer Juan Nunez, 41, of Coolidge, pleaded guilty to attempting to furnish an inmate with contraband and was sentenced to 24 months in prison to be followed by 36 months of supervised release, and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service while under the court’s supervision. As a correctional officer at the Central Arizona Detention Center located in Florence, AZ, Nunez attempted to provide an inmate of the facility with cocaine. Nunez met with an undercover FBI special agent and received approximately ½ ounce cocaine and $1,600 in cash as payment for the delivery of the cocaine to the inmate. Nunez was arrested without incident shortly after he got out of the undercover agent's car.
Multi-Agency Investigation Leads to 43 Arrests in Lancaster, CA
Law enforcement officers arrested 43 members and associates of a Pasadena-based street gang in the Antelope Valley for allegedly trafficking in crack cocaine. About three pounds of crack cocaine and 114 grams of powder cocaine were seized in the yearlong investigation. The investigation was conducted by federal, state, and local resources and more than 400 law enforcement officers were involved.
Baltimore Police Raid Car Wash
In a raid on a Reisterstown Road car wash, Baltimore police seized more than two pounds of cocaine, weapons and a 24-foot powerboat from the business. Authorities believed the car wash was a front for the drug operation and were acting on tips from locals. Police found a "brick" of cocaine and $4,000 in cash in a hidden compartment of an office table in addition to five handguns, a MAC-11 assault pistol and a shotgun elsewhere in the car wash. Additionally, authorities took at least five vehicles and the boat. The owner of Celebrities Car Wash was among the four arrested and charged with drug offenses.
Sheboygan Young Women Pleads Guilty to Selling Cocaine
Twenty-year-old Miranda N. Wislinsky was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two counts of selling cocaine. Wislinskly faces up to three years in prison for two counts of manufacturing and delivering cocaine. Wislinksly is a felony repeater and has also been charged for selling marijuana and two offenses of drunk driving.
