Tween Girl Arrest in NY for Selling Drugs

A girl from Queens celebrated her 13th birthday in custody after being arrested for selling marijuana and crack cocaine. While neighbors say the girl was previously involved in more positive activities at the nearby community center, no one is surprised that local gangs have involved children in their drug deals. Experts say that the number of teens and pre-teens committing drug crimes is one the rise.

Maine Methadone Clinic Closed by Officials

The Turing Tide methadone clinic in Rockland, Maine is now closed after being shut down by state and federal officials. Last month, Angel Fuller-McMahan, the owner of the clinic, was arrested on drug charges after she was caught selling cocaine. A counselor at the clinic, Carol Gardiner, was arrested a few days after Fuller-McMahan for attempted possession of cocaine. The clinic had close to three hundred clients who will now need to get their methadone from another source.

Women Charged After Child in Her Care Tested Positive for Cocaine

Tasha Michelle Davidson, 30, of Clewiston, Florida, was arrested after a child in her care tested positive for cocaine. Davidson is charged with child abuse without great harm and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The father of the girl who tested positive alerted authorities to possibility that Davidson used cocaine in the presence of his daughter. While Davidson denied using drugs in front of the girl, a toxicology screen on the girl came back positive for cocaine.

Parole Violator Arrest Based on Anonymous Tip

One of Florida Crime Stoppers’ 10 Most Wanted fugitives is now in custody following an anonymous tip. Howard Brice, a fifty-two-year-old man from Fort Myers, violated the terms of his parole following a five-year sentence in prison for several charges, including trafficking cocaine and battery on a law enforcement officer. Completing a drug-treatment program was a condition of Brice’s release from prison last year, which he as failed to do. Prior to his last stint in prison, Brice spent nearly 14 years behind bars for drugs, resisting arrest with violence, and selling and delivering cocaine.

Investigation of Maine Man Leads to Arrest

Local police and members of the Old Colony Anti-Crime Unit charge Jeremy Mitchell, 32, from Kingston, Maine with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of drugs near a school or park following a search of his residence. Authorities conducted the search after investigating Mitchell for two-months.

Repeat Offender May Face Grand Jury

Mike Stanley, 39, of Freemont, Ohio, was arrested for possession of cocaine following a search of his home. Police say Stanley had been dealing drugs from his home and found 7 ounces of cocaine worth $7,000, other drugs, and drug paraphernalia during the search. Stanley is currently on parole for previous crimes and is now facing a second-degree felony charge as well as trafficking charges based on the amount of cocaine seized.

28-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 65 Years

Twenty-eight-year-old James Christopher Miranda, of San Marcos, Texas has been convicted of five felonies and sentenced to a total of 65 years in prison. The felony charges included possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, family violence, and unlawful firearm possession. Narcotics detectives say Miranda was selling drugs from motel rooms. Miranda also has prior convictions for escape and injury to a child and for family assault. The prior convictions lead to the severe punishment for the new crimes.
